Collage of Northland's Children

Our Journey Together

We created a mission statement ("Our mission is to glorify God by sharing His gospel, teaching His word, equipping His people, uniting His family, exalting His name, and expanding His kingdom") based on what we believe the Bible has called us to as individuals, as families, and as the family of God. To help us accomplish our mission, we have created a series of ministries that are designed to help us as a church fulfill our mission and help our members grow in their relationship with God.

Music and Worship

Worship provides believers with a unique opportunity to fellowship with a holy God in the company of other believers. At Northland Baptist Church, we believe that music is one way to worship God. To facilitate the worship expressions of our cross-generational congregation, we offer a truly blended worship service…drawing from good old gospel hymns such as "Victory in Jesus" and modern worship tunes like Chris Tomlin's "Made to Worship."

For those who desire to serve God through music, come join our Adult Choir, Praise Team, or both. Contact John Riley for more information.

Youth

At Northland, our Youth group includes students in 6th-12th grades. We want to see teenagers develop a life-changing relationship with Christ through outreach events, Bible studies and worship that is on their level, opportunities to develop positive friendships, and mission projects that challenge them to make a difference in their world. Our Youth get together several times a week for Bible study, prayer, and fun.

Sunday School

Sunday School is not just something for kids! At Northland, it is our foundational strategy to teach the inerrant Word of God in context and build lasting relationships to help one another apply Biblical lessons to daily life. Our goal is to change lives. We strive to be better husbands, wives, parents, employees, managers, and most of all followers of Christ. Opportunities for small group Bible study and fellowship are available to people of all ages and backgrounds every Sunday morning at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. For help discovering where you fit into this equation, contact Staci Porras or Cody Dowell.

Nursery

We take our responsibility to care for your children very seriously and will do every thing possible to ensure that their time with us will be a safe and positive experience. Nursery care is offered during all of our service times.

Discipleship

Christianity is a lifelong relationship with God, a daily commitment and journey to become more and more like Jesus Christ. Discipleship is a name given to Christian growth and training. Our discipleship department offers one theological and one practical Christian living course each fall and spring to help people grow in their faith. The courses usually meet weekly on Wednesday evenings for a period of 6-12 weeks. For a current schedule of classes, contact Shane Parker or Cody Dowell.

In addition, we periodically offer a one-on-one mentoring relationship that is tailored to your spiritual condition and goals. If you would like more information about these opportunities, contact us!

Missions Ministry

Northland’s missions goal is to help members grow by putting their faith into action in the community, around the state, across the country, and around the world. We have many opportunities to “be on mission” in the local area with Set Free, City Union mission, Rachael House, and other locations. We conduct several mission trips annually to Columbia, Colorado, Mississippi, and overseas.

We also support missions through education within our church and by our commitment to the Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong Mission Offerings, and prayer/financial support of specific missionaries that have a relationship with our church body. To get involved contact Ben Waligorski or Cody Dowell.

Men's Ministry

Northland maintains a men’s ministry designed to provide opportunities for men to form bonds in their unique ways that lead to friendship, sharing life experiences, accountability, and ultimately spiritual growth. This is accomplished through participating in the annual men’s retreat (camp-out), sharing food during periodic breakfasts, and sweating together caring for the church property and helping church members in need. To get involved, contact Cody Dowell.

Women's Ministry

Northland has an active women’s ministry designed to promote Christian growth by developing hearts that are relying on Jesus, renewing hearts and minds, and relating to other women. This is accomplished through annual retreats, Bible studies at multiple locations and times, Women on Mission group that meets monthly once during the day and once in the evening. Contact Kerry Marrs to get involved.

Senior Adult Club

Our seniors know well that we should never be satisfied with our Christian growth. They regularly meet for Friday or Saturday morning Bible study, monthly luncheons, and regular fellowship trips. Don’t miss out! Contact Winnie Romig or Wilbur Roberts.

Care Groups

We offer a small group ministry (called 'Care Groups') that is designed to help our families build strong relationships with each other for support, friendship, encouragement, and old-fashioned community. Our groups encompass a wide range of demographics and meet all over the Northland. They get together for meals, Bible study, and fun. If you would like to know more about this ministry, just ask!

Recreation

We participate in church volleyball, softball, and bowling leagues in order to provide our members recreation and time to develop friendships based on common interests.

Garden Village

Our members provide full worship services at Garden Village, a nearby retirement community, every Sunday afternoon. Anyone interested in assisting with this ministry should contact the church office.
