Are you finding what you're looking for?

I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…Romans 1:16

Welcome!

One short web page could never answer every question about who we are or what we believe. Please contact us if you want more information.

Above all else, we believe that there is only one way to be made right with God and spend eternity in heaven, and that is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God's Son. If you aren't sure what this means, or if you have one, please contact us so we can tell you more.

Our Mission and Core Beliefs
Our mission is to glorify God by…

Sharing His Gospel (Evangelism)

We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to abundant and eternal life, and are compelled to share this message with those who do not know Him as their Lord and Savior. As a church, we will provide the training, encouragement, and opportunities needed for our members to share their faith with others. 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Teaching His Word (Discipleship)

We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and is valuable to every part of our lives today. As a church, we will teach the Bible faithfully to everyone and provide the training and opportunities necessary for each person to study and apply God’s Word. 2 Timothy 3:16-4:2

Equipping His People (Ministry)

We believe that God has given every believer the responsibility and ability to serve His kingdom in the local church. As a church, we will help our members discover, develop, and exercise their unique gifts in meaningful and fulfilling ways. 1 Corinthians 12:12-20

Uniting His Family (Fellowship)

We believe that all believers are to live in unity, express love to one another, and serve all people. As a church, we will build a community of love and encouragement in which all of our members can develop dynamic and meaningful relationships with one another. John 15:12-17

Exalting His Name (Worship)

We believe the chief end of people is to worship God, and that life apart from Him is meaningless and unsatisfying. As a church, we will lead our members to worship God in spirit and truth both in church and in their daily lives. Psalm 96

Expanding His Kingdom (Missions)

We believe our task as followers of Jesus Christ reaches far beyond the walls of our building. As a church, we will help other believers build God’s kingdom through mission work and mission support. Matthew 28:19-20
Our Statement of Beliefs

Our constitution says the following:

“We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. This church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper.”

Certainly it is enough for us to say that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God and the absolute basis for all we believe and practice. But because interpretation of the Bible varies widely, we have adpoted the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 to help us clearly define our positions on key matters of faith.
Our Church Covenant

Members of Northland Baptist Church have entered into a covenant with each other as a sign of our seriousness and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. Our covenant says the following:

Having been led as we believe by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

By the grace of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit…
  • We will promote unity within our church by demonstrating love toward one another in our words and actions;
  • We will partner with one another to accomplish the mission of our church;
  • We will pray regularly for the ministries, members and leaders of our church;
  • We will provide for the financial needs of our church by giving regularly and generously;
  • We will pursue the advancement of the Kingdom of God by exercising our spiritual gifts and talents to spread the gospel and build up the body of Christ;
  • We will protect the testimony of our church by attending regularly, living godly lives, keeping Christ as the center of our families and raising our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Our Church Associations

While Northland Baptist Church is an autonomous church, we have chosen to partner with the churches of the Southern Baptist Convention to cooperate in the advancement of the kingdom of God. On a more local level, we have also partnered with the Missouri Baptist Convention and the Clay-Platte Baptist Association.
